A Brief History
For those that don’t know what Cowes Week is, here is a quick explanation…
Cowes Week is one of the longest running sailing regattas in the world.
It has up to 40 races a day, over 8,500 competitors of any ability and over 1,000 boats.
It was started in 1826 by George IV, takes place in the Solent and is run by Cowes Week Limited in the town of Cowes on the Isle of Wight.
Great Sporting Event

Sound good? Well take a look below…
You’ll definitely need a Blazer
We have a number of blazers available that are perfect for this type of event.
The Brook Taverner Boating Blazer is a great blazer; it is a single breasted 2 button blazer with a stunning red and navy striped pattern. One not to miss.
If you’re not one for patterns why not try the Brook Taverner Patch Pocket Club Blazer, this is a fantastic mixed wool single breasted blazer. Available in Bottle Green, Navy, Black, Royal Blue and Maroon.
If this is still too bright then the next blazer is perfect for you. The Skopes Ascot blazer is a great quality single breasted blazer available in Black and Navy. It has side vents and a contrast lining (Blue with the Navy and a Red with the Black). It also has gold buttons on the front and sleeves giving it a sophisticated and classic look.
For the trousers it’s got to be Chinos
Below are a couple of pairs of trousers that we believe would match the items above.
Don’t forget if there is nothing below to your taste, we have lots more on the website here.
Gurteen Supersoft Chino Trousers, 100% Cotton, washable and wrinkle free. These will look great with the Boating Blazer or Patch Pocket Blazer, and they are available in 3 colours.
Or try the Brook Taverner Truro Chinos, these have a classic chino cut and are also available in 3 colours.
To match the Ascot Blazer we suggest the Douglas Business Trouser. These are Smart and classic look sophisticated when paired with a dark blazer.
(Stick to the lighter colours to stop it looking like you’re wearing a suit.)
